GRAB-L3R

Grab-l3r is a 2D platformer with puzzle elements, that tells the story of a lone robot in a post-apocalyptic world.

You control Grabby, a robot that has lost its legs and goes on a quest to find them.

You can only use your trusty grappling hook to move through the levels. The other habitants in this world won’t be willing to help you – but you just might find a way to make use of them anyway.

No matter if you like to take your time and think, or if you enjoy going fast, this game is fun to play!

Main mechanics:  

- Left click to fire the grappling hook where your mouse is pointing, left click again to release

- The player will be automatically pulled towards the grappling hook after firing. to remain in place (not automatically be pulled), hold S before  firing.

- A, D keys to swing left and right respectively

- W to retract the grappling hook rope, S to lengthen the rope

- Spacebar to hop

- ESC for menu

This game has been developed as a part of Game Development Summer studies. Students from Kajaani University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with students from Nanyang Polytechnic from Singapore came together to create a game that aims to have all the components of bigger titles. Cohesive look and feel merges together with original music and animations. The cherry on top is of course the story with awesome gameplay.
